WJSA enjoy Spireites Victory

WJSA enjoy Spireites Victory

Mickey Parkinson14 Oct - 08:00

Whilst the the Spireites enjoyed a 2-0 victory, the day made so many more memories for some of our players.

The Spireites were joined by Salford for their League 2 Clash on the 11th of October. With the SMH Group Stadium was filled by 7,962 people, 33 of our players got to enjoy pre-match a bit different to the others.

33 of players from our younger age groups got the opportunity to be flagbearers for the game, with pre-match starting by a practice run of what they would be doing throughout the afternoon, a tour of the ground and many more exciting moments, the day was topped of by being able to welcome the players onto the pitch waving Chesterfield FC/Chesterfield FC Community Trust flags as the players walked onto the pitch. It gave the players from WJSAs the opportunity to meet many of the players they look up to, and for many get to feel the excitement of the final minutes before kick-off.

Once everyone had completed the duties as a flagbearers, they were able to return to their seat and watch the game surrounded by other players/families of WJSA, which was topped of with the Spireites coming out victorious, beating Salford 2-0.

It was also great to see Coach Rob again who many of the players had been coached by at Little Dudes/Mini Dudes.
